Durga Devi Zone: The enchanted mountain of Corbett

It is a hill safari zone. Known as “Bird-watcher’s paradise”, it’s the home to a wide variety of exotic and migratory birds such as Grey-headed Fishing Eagle, Maroon Oriole, Long tailed Broadbill etc.

Flora & Fauna in Durgadevi Zone Jim Corbett

Durga Devi Zone is the hill safari zone filled with wildlife beauty and adventure within the Corbett Tiger Reserve. The entry gate is the Durga Devi gate which is located about 28 km from Ramnagar.  Located at North-Eastern side of the park, Durga Devi Range has Ramganga river and Mandal river flowing by its side. This zone is famous for sighting wild elephants and fishing at Domunda Bridge also enthral visitors. Famous Mahasheer fish can also be found in the river water of Durga Devi Range. Green forest in this range provides ample opportunity for bird watching too. Like the core zones, it follows the seasonal clock. It usually opens on October 15th and closes on June 15th for the monsoon. There is also a beautiful, old-world forest lodge here called Lohachaur.
